Russia vs France: Jamal Yusupov, Samy Sana fight at ‘ONE: Collision Course 2’ in Singapore

Jamal “Kherow” Yusupov, 37, of Russia was one of the winners at “ONE: Collision Course 2,” the last ONE Championship event in 2020. It was the Russian kickboxer’s second victory in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.

Yusupov trains out of Best Style Boxing and GOG Fighting and “ONE: Collision Course 2” marked his second ONE Super Series fight. When he made his debut in the league at “ONE: Age of Dragons” in Beijing, China on November 16,2 019, he knocked out Yodsankla Fairtex, 35, of Thailand.

Featuring four MMA fights and two Muay Thai contests, “ONE: Collision Course 2” took place place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore and broadcast in the evening of December 25, 2020. It was pre-recorded with a limited audience in attendance due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In the main event of the evening, Yusupov fought Samy “AK47” Sana, 32, of Algeria and France in a Muay Thai match in the featherweight division. Olivier Coste served as the referee while Rosenberg Rosete of the Philippines, Brad Robinson of the United States and Tomas Genberg of Sweden were the judges.

After three three-minute rounds, the featherweight contest was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of Yusupov, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

 

Winning at “ONE: Collision Course 2” improved the professional Muay Thai and kickboxing record of Yusupov to 53 wins and 9 losses. On the other hand, Sana now holds a professional Muay Thai and kickboxing record of 135 wins, 14 losses and 2 draws.

Sana trains at Phenix Muay Thai Paris and Venum Training Camp Thailand. He stands 190 cm while Yusupov is 176 cm tall.

Nine countries were represented at “ONE: Collision Course 2” namely Algeria, Brazil, China, France, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Singapore and South Korea. Sana solely represented both Algeria and France while Yusupov was one of the two fighters who represented Russia.
