Based in Bahrain, BRAVE Combat Federation is one of the global mixed martial arts promotion actively holding events amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Its most recent event “BRAVE CF 45” took place at the Bahrain National Stadium in East Riffa, Bahrain on November 19, 2020.

In the main event of “BRAVE CF 45,” Dumar “Corazon de Leon” Roa, 30, of Guateque, Boyaca, Colombia knocked out Ian “Enty” Entwistle, 34, of Accrington, England, United Kingdom, a former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter. It was the Colombian contender’s second win in BRAVE CF.

“I’m excited to come back,” Roa said after the fight. “I love to fight. It’s the thing I love most in life.”

“Everyone in BRAVE CF is great,” Roa continued. “It’s such a wonderful promotion so I’m really happy to be here. I knew he was looking for a heel hook but my nickname is Lionheart for a reason as all the Colombian people are also brave in their hearts.”

Roa also shared his thoughts on the unique situation he saw himself in prior to “BRAVE CF 45.” The Colombian MMA fighter went to Mexico for a one-week training camp but ended up stuck in the country for months due to the developing COVID-19 pandemic.

“This was a big surprise for me but thankfully I was welcomed by very nice people that helped me during such challenging times,” Roa shared. “Coach Roberto brought me in, made me part of his family and they’re my second family now but I really miss my family in Colombia.”

“I stayed nine months away from them and I miss them so much,” Roa continued. “I can’t wait to be back and finally meet them.”

Winning at “BRAVE CF 45” improved the professional MMA record of Roa to 9 wins and 7 losses. Competing professionally since 2012, he joined BRAVE CF in 2019.

Competing professionally since 2010, Entwistle competed in the UFC from 2014 to 2016 and went on hiatus from 2017 to 2019. He now has 9 wins and 4 losses.
