Is Keanu Reeves Asian? Who are his parents?

Yes, Keanu Charles Reeves, 56, professionally known as Keanu Reeves, is of Asian descent. The Canadian actor was actually born in Asia.

Reeves was born on September 2, 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon to Samuel Nowlin Reeves Jr. and Patricia Taylor Bond, whose last husband was Jack Bond. Samuel and Patricia got married in 1964.

Patricia and Samuel’s daughter Kim Reeves was born on September 16, 1966. Shortly after this, he left his family.

Samuel is a geologist from Hawaii, United States. He is of Native Hawaiian, Chinese, English, Irish and Portuguese descent.

Hailing from Essex, England, United Kingdom, Patricia is English. A costume designer and a casino showgirl, she was working in Beirut when she met Samuel.

Keanu and Kim’s parents divorced in 1966. After the divorce, Patricia moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia with her two children.

In 1968, Patricia, Keanu and Kim moved to New York, USA. Patricia married Broadway and film director Paul Aaron in 1970 but they divorced in 1971.

Also in 1971, Patricia, Keanu and Kim moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1976, Patricia married music promoter Robert Miller and gave birth to their daughter Karina Miller.

In 1980, Patricia and Miller divorced. She eventually married Jack, who ran a salon and hairdressing business in Toronto, but they separated in 1994.

 

Meanwhile, Samuel was arrested for selling heroin at the Hilo Airport in Hawaii in 1992 and spent time in prison for heroin trafficking. The last time he saw Keanu was in 1977 in Hawaii.

Keanu is a Canadian citizen. In 1984, he worked as a correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) youth television program “Going Great” and made his acting debut by appearing in an episode of the TV series “Hangin’ In.”

In 1988, Keanu played Chris Townsend in “Permanent Record,” which was his first lead role. He went on to become one of the most successful Hollywood actors having played Thomas Anderson/Neo in “The Matrix” films, John Constantine in “Constantine,” Kai in “47 Ronin” and the title character in “John Wick” films, among others.
