ONE Championship held the official “ONE: Reign of Valor” open workout at the Transcend Fitness Yangon in Yangon, Myanmar on March 5, 2019. Reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, of Sweden was joined by Georgiy “Knight” Kichigin, 28, of Kazakhstan and hometown heroes Phoe “Bushido” Thaw, 34, “The Dragon Leg” Tial Thang, 25, and Bozhena “Toto” Antoniyar, 23.
The five ONE Championship athletes are set to compete at “ONE: Reign of Valor” at the iconic Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon on March 8, 2019. Along with nine mixed martial arts matches, the card will feature five kickboxing matches under ONE Super Series.
Kichigin will challenge Kadestam in the main event as Thaw returns to action to face “The Iceman” Yohan Mulia Legowo, 38, of Indonesia in the co-main event. Thang squares off with Kun Khmer practitioner Rin Saroth, 25, of Cambodia while Antoniyar is slated to face Audreylaura “Ice Comet” Boniface, 29, of Malaysia.
Including Myanmar, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia, 21 countries will be represented at “ONE: Reign of Valor.” The other countries are Australia, China, Germany, Finland, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Morocco, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
What makes “ONE: Reign of Valor” different from the ONE Championship events that took place in Myanmar in the past few years is that reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33, of Myanmar is not on the card. Currently, the Burmese superstar is riding a five-bout winning streak and his five most recent bouts all took place in his home country.
