Malaysia, New Zealand and Turkey were three of the countries represented at “ONE: Call to Greatness.” It was the first ONE Championship event in 2019 to be held in Singapore.
Featuring six mixed martial arts matches, four kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai bout, “ONE: Call to Greatness” took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on February 22, 2019. In the ninth bout of the evening, Ev “E.T.” Ting, 29, of Malaysia and New Zealand faced Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev, 24, of Turkey.
Blue Corner
Born in Dagestan, Russia on October 23, 1994, Arslanaliev was 14 years old when he moved to Istanbul, Turkey and started started his training at Corvos MMA in Istanbul. He held championship titles in several disciplines including wushu and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In 2016, Arslanaliev joined ONE Championship. “ONE: Call to Greatness” marked his seventh bout in the organization.
Red Corner
Born in Malaysia, Ting moved to New Zealand when he was young. He started his martial arts training in Auckland, New Zealand in 2009 and joined ONE Championship in 2014.
Ting is training out of Auckland MMA. “ONE: Call to Greatness” marked his 14th ONE Championship bout.
Fight Result
With Olivier Coste as the referee, Ting and Saygid competed in the lightweight division. It was the first match in the quarter finals of the inaugural ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix.
Arslanaliev punched his ticket into the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix semi-finals after knocking out Ting in just 25 seconds. One shot was all the Russian-Turkish fighter needed as he landed a massive left hook that immediately dropped his Malaysian-Kiwi opponent to the mat.
With a series of thunderous ground strikes, Arslanaliev finished the job and had his hand raised by Coste. The Istanbul-based Dagestani fighter now has 7 wins and 1 loss while Ting has 16 wins and 6 losses.
“ONE” Call to Greatness” Main Event
In the main event of the evening, Stamp Fairtex, 21, of Thailand and Janet Todd, 33 of the U.S. competed for the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship title. The Thai contender won via unanimous decision.
Argentina, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and the United States were also represented at “ONE: Call to Greatness.” Check the complete results here.
