Indonesia and India were among the 14 countries represented at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent.” It is the second ONE Championship event in 2019.
Featuring one kickboxing contest, four Muay Thai matches and nine mixed martial arts bouts, “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Kicking off the action in the preliminary bouts were Egi Rozten, 20, of Indonesia and Himanshu Kaushik, 26, of India.
Blue Corner
Kaushik is a multiple-time National Wushu and Karate Champion. Training out of Pramansh Training Center, he has been competing professionally since 2013.
“ONE: Hero’s Ascent” marked Kaushik’s third ONE Championship bout. He was riding a three-bout loss.
Red Corner
Rozten is an Indonesian regional boxing champion. He is training out of Indogym.
“ONE: Hero’s Ascent” marked Rozten’s third ONE Championship bout. He won his first two bouts in the promotion both via knockout.
Fight Result
Rozten faced Kaushik in an MMA bout in the strawweight division. Yuji Shimada served as the referee.
Shimada put a stop to the strawweight bout between Rozten and Kaushik after 3 minutes and 33 seconds in the first round. The Indian fighter knocked out his Indonesian opponent.
Winning at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” improved Kaushik’s professional MMA record to 5 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Rozten now has 2 wins and 1 loss.
“ONE: Hero’s Ascent” Main Events
In the co-main event, Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 29, of Benguet, Philippines and Lowen Tynanes, 28, of Hawaii, United States competed in the first bout of the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix quarter-finals. The Hawaiian fighter knocked out his Filipino opponent in the first round.
In the main event, Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 30, of Brazil challenged reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 29, of the Philippines. The challenger dethroned the defending champion via unanimous decision.
Australia, Algeria, Brazil, China, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and the United States were also represented at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent.” Check the complete results here.
