India was among the 11 countries that will be represented at “Brave 20: Hyderabad” at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on December 22, 2018. It was the second event of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation to take place in India.
“Brave 20: Hyderabad” featured 10 MMA matches. The fourth bout of the evening was between two Indian fighters Kushal Vyas and Angad Bisht, who are also both promotional debutantes.
Including Vyas and Bisht, a total of nine fighters represented India at “Brave 20: Hyderabad.” The others were Sarabit Singh, Satya Behuria, Nidhin Koshy, Satendar Bankura, Mandeep Singh, Nelson Paes and Kantharaj Shankar.
Blue Corner
Bisht made his professional MMA debut in Super Fight League 2018. After earning three consecutive wins in the league, he competed in the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association for the first time and had his first loss.
Originally, Bisht was set to face Keith “Killa” Lee, 22, of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States at “Brave 20: India.” However, the American contender was pulled out from the card and was replaced by Vyas.
Red Corner
Vyas has been competing professionally since 2015. After earning three consecutive wins in Full Contact Championship, he lost in Predator Fight Series, Full Metal Dojo and Hosharafu Fighting Championship, respectively.
In Vyas’s most recent bout, he submitted his fellow Indian fighter Pawanprasad Semwal via armbar. The two battled it out in Kumite 1 League at the Dome @NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, India.
Fight Result
Bisht and Vyas competed in the bantamweight division at “Brave 20: Hyderabad.” The referee put a stop to the contest in the first round when the former knocked out the latter.
Winning at “Brave 20: India” improved Bisht’s professional MMA record to 4 wins and 1 loss. Meanwhile, Vyas now has 4 wins and 4 losses.
“Brave 20: India” Main Events
In the co-main event of the evening, John Brewin, 24, of Auckland, New Zealand faced Anas Siraj “The Moroccan Sensation” Mounir, 32, of Morocco in the lightweight division. After three five-minute rounds, the Moroccan fighter won via unanimous decision.
In the main event, Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev of Sweden and Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 22, of Dalton, Georgia competed in the middleweight division. The Swedish fighter knocked out his American opponent in the first round.
